Recycling masters

E fica aqui a minha homenagem.

Today I want to speak to you of the creators of the greatest recycling work.

True masters that build their art bit by bit each and every day.

Those that each day clench their teeth and walk along the same street where just the day before they were stoned, insulted, humiliated.

Those that saw their life turned upside down by a catastrophe (natural or human) and started again from scratch, often in a foreign and hostile land.

Those that bravely face the people that reject them because of a body changed by a more or less serious disease.

Those that after leaving a loved one seriously ill in the hospital, put on a smile to calm and reassure the rest of the family that waits anxiously at home.

The gentle and kind that keep being so with people that believe that kindness and gentleness is not enough and a pocket full of money is better.

Those that are able to avoid insulting a relative that invited them to be their guest in a hour of need, and then decided to be utterly disrespectful.

Those able to avoid insulting a relative that decided to be utterly disrespectful, just because he/she made them their guest in an hour of need.

Those that keep being good professionals after seeing the bosses take advantage of their hard work and giving the promotion to another colleague saying “you need to work more”.

Those that face prejudice, envy, hypocrisy, cynicism, wickedness and evil-speaking every single day.

But despite all that are still capable to reinvent themselves day in day out, transforming each scar into a beauty feature.

No self-help books or miraculous recipes.

Just themselves.

Those are the true recycling crafters.

And this is my tribute to them.
